As 2013 comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the joys and triumphs of the year. To that end, we bring you the 2013 Blog Ring of Power Year in Review Giveaway Hop! We’ve teamed up with this past years’ BRoP interviewees to bring you 22 days of “year in review” guest posts and 20 fabulous giveaway prizes! Today is all about me. Weird right? As I'm not published yet. Make that bad boy a big fat YET.

I'm wrapping up the final chapters of Second Nature, a book I've been working on for almost three years now. It's a stand alone with sequel potential. An Epic Fantasy that takes the Chinese Tiger vs Dragon and lends a Medieval style to it. I'm sure your eyes just crossed with that one. Don't worry, I didn't destroy the match, only grew on it.

In the meantime, don't forget that time is running out to enter to win some epic prizes from all the authors who have jumped back to let us know what they've been up to since we chatted with them last.

BRoP: Year In Review with Jennifer Allis Provost

It's the last Friday before Christmas! Yes, I know, you didn't want to be reminded. Sorry, I'm excited. So let's get this Friday started with another chance for the Blog Ring of Power giveaway.

So let's see what Jennifer has been up to since last we saw her:

J.A.P.: Since my interview on BRoP, I have completed the sequel to Copper Girl, Copper Ravens. I've attached the cover, which was just revealed on November 20. Copper Ravens is the second in a four-book series, and there is also a spinoff duology in the works that will focus on the main character's brother, Max Corbeau.

I've also been working on an time travel/urban fantasy set in Scotland, Gallowglass. It follows a brother and sister from America (Chris and Karina, respectively), both of whom are running away from their problems at home, and a man from the seventeenth century (the titular gallowglass) who was kidnapped by the fairy queen. Karina inadvertently frees him, and becomes a target for the fairy queen's anger.

Last but not least, I am relaunching my epic fantasy series, The Chronicles of Parthalan, in 2014. To learn more about it, or to help make this project a reality, follow this link: http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-chronicles-of-parthalan/x/3261850

BRoP, Year in Review with Ellen Larson

Welcome to another post of Blog Ring of Power's Year in Review!

Today we have Ellen Larson up to bat.

Larson_headshop_2011The three months since my guest entry on the Blog Ring of Power have been rewarding ones. The pre-press reviews for In Retrospect are in, and they are very generous. Publishers Weekly, the big guy on reviewing campus, gave me a starred review, saying "[A] carefully crafted whodunit . . . shifting timelines clearly notated in chapter headings and technological/theoretical discussions that readers can skim or chew over with equal enjoyment should make this speculative fiction mystery accessible to all closed-room murder fans." Three other major reviewers followed: "Cleverly structured mix of science fiction and mystery" -Booklist; "Twisty plot" -Kirkus; "Gripping" -RT Book Reviews.

Maybe the biggest thrill was seeing the book trailer for In Retrospect featured for three days on Baker & Taylor's front page in their Reel Time slot. I've been so lucky to have a unique trailer to help promote the book--Thank you Mike Sissons, who created this absolute gem. The trailer is up on youtube here: http://youtu.be/nEqOU_tuXNE

IR_CoverMy first signing will be at a Mystery Panel on Saturday Nov. 30 at the Tewksbury Public Library in Massachusetts. Then comes the launch party, 2 PM Sunday, Dec. at the Somerville Public Library. And on Dec. 11, In Retrospect will be available for sale and in libraries. Thanks to the BRoP for hosting my first guest blog!

BRoP: Year in Review with A. W. Exley

We have come to the end of another great year. Together we have met some wonderful authors and my reading list has gotten bigger and bigger.

As 2013 comes to a close, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the joys and triumphs of the year. To that end, we bring you the 2013 Blog Ring of Power Year in Review Giveaway Hop

We’ve teamed up with this past years’ BRoP interviewees to bring you 22 days of “year in review” guest posts and 20 fabulous giveaway prizes! Each day we'll share a new guest post on the year in review from a previous BRoP interviewee and you’ll have another opportunity to enter the giveaway—so get hopping! And be sure to enter the giveaway at the end of this post!

A. W. Exley

A few things have happened since I last appeared on the Blog Ring of Power. I had two short stories published in anthologies where 10% of proceeds are being donated to no-kill shelters. They were a bit of a departure for me as I ventured out of my steampunk world and created my own gargoyle mythology. The two stories share the same world and mythology but have two different sets of characters. One story is GOTHIC GWEN a YA paranormal story in CQ Prime Time. The other story is THE QUARRY, which is definitely an adult story in CQ After Dark. There is the potential for either to become a full length novel as the stories are open ended, I just need to find the time!

Since certain characters in my head wouldn't be quiet NEFERTITI'S HEART became a series called The Artifact Hunters. Book 2, HATSHEPSUT'S COLLAR was released on November 15. Do you know how many times I stared at my cover of Hatshepsut's Collar before I realized we had spelled Hatshepsut wrong? Let me tell you, it was a lot! lol Having given my cover artist an anxiety complex I have agreed all future books will have titles of only 2 syllables or less ;)  I'm currently writing book 3, called NERO's FIDDLE.

I also have a YA steampunk novel that needs a light going over before it's ready for release. So things are very busy in Middle Earth. Plus Xmas is just around the corner, which happens in the middle of summer for us and that's normally my time of year to relax in the shade with a stack of books.
